People often ask musician and singer songwriter Christopher Galen who his influences are. The expected answer would be a familiar list of great artists from the last several decades like Lindsey Buckingham, John Hiatt, Don Henley and The Beatles of course. And certainly growing up with Southern roots, Hank Williams, Elvis Presley, The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd are not outside of that circle of influential music. But the real question to be posed is “what” are his influences. Heartbreak. Depression. Hope. Desire. And usually in that order. You see, Christopher views music as an opportunity. An opportunity to exorcise the heartbreak in his life. This allows him to stay connected to the moment and not live in the past nor try and predict the future. Some would call his music the blues. Although certainly not traditional, one might guess in some form it is.

Christopher Galen is no ordinary singer songwriter. He is no ordinary musician. He hopes to take his audience somewhere. And that place is where music connects to our soul. Christopher resides in Fort Collins, CO where music is paramount to his life.
