"Black Mountain Road" features the Clean Room late 2015 / early-mid 2016-era lineup, consisting of group founder/leader Jeff Halleran (guitar, vox), Tylre Wilcox (drums), Kyre Wilcox (bass), and Paul Durso (2nd guitar). Guest guitarists featured on this album include Halleran's guitar teacher Isaiah Mitchell (Earthless, Golden Void), and San Diego CA heavy psych rock sonic shred brethren Zack Oakley (Joy, Artifact), and Dylan Donovan (Sacri Monti, Pharlee). The majority of the album was recorded by Jordan Andreen at Audio Design Recording in San Diego, and the vocals were recorded at Paul Durso's private studio, where Durso also did all the mixing as his contribution to the group, with Halleran sitting in alongside for input. Zack and Dylan recorded their guitar parts at Paul's studio, and Isaiah recorded his guitar parts in his private home studio in northern California. The album was mastered by Jay Thomas at Day-Go Produce in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. Visual Malaise did the OG CR cauldron logo, and Operation Mindblow did the liquid light projection overlay used on the album art.
