The songs on this album had been performed numerous times before being recorded. The songs had seen donut shops, wrestling matches, insurance offices, venues, dives, basements, backyards, colleges, and flea markets. Four friends traveled to the heart of Midwest music land, Chicago, and record their full length at Treehouse Records. The beauty of this album is that is was recorded analog. On physical material. There's no layering tracks. There is some over dubbing, but that's just sprinkles of guitar and vocals to make it that much more exceptional. Neat little fact about this album: Lever had only plan on recording 8 tracks, but because Treehouse was so magical, we finished with 10 tracks. This album is simply Lever. There's no catering to ideas of music or ideas of people. We played and recorded what felt write for the songs themselves. There's grit; there's pop; and there's most definitely rock. But when you take a step back and see the whole picture of the album Hover Bored, you see Lever.
