简介
“Crazy talented singer-songwriter Casey Dinkin” (BUST Magazine) burst onto the NYC music scene two years ago and has already shared the stage with Rachael Yamagata at City Winery, been featured on NPR, and celebrated the release of her debut album, Right Now For Now, with a packed show at Rockwood Music Hall, the City's premier venue for independent pop-folk artists. Fueled by a successful $10,000 Kickstarter campaign, Casey “has a sparkling debut release full of clever, caffeinated tunes that are smart, modern pop-folk songs..set to catchy melodies." (Times Union) Her songs “meld soul, pop and folk influences into a soulful, melodic sound that has captured a devoted fan base...She's been compared to songstresses Fiona Apple, Duffy, Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones, but has created a distinctive sound that will surely secure a unique place among them” (BUST Magazine). Shortly after moving to NYC, Casey met kindred spirit and producer Dan Siegler (HBO, Showtime, Morley, Chris Dowd of Fishbone), and the two began working on her first album. Casey acquainted herself with the City's musical landscape at venues such as Cafe Vivaldi and The Bitter End, delivering her uniquely engaging repertoire of original songs with “the sweetness and genuine charm to pack a performance space” (Music Historian). Beyond her musical pursuits, Casey has worked at anti-poverty non-profit organizations, and is an avid yoga practitioner and registered yoga teacher. Her desire to record and share her songs is rooted in her belief that music connects and heals people. On the back of her album cover, she writes, “Thank you to everyone who listens to these songs. It is a gift and an honor to be added to the soundtrack of your lives. I hope they bring you some of the joy and comfort they have brought to me. I hope they reinforce your understanding that none of us are alone in what we feel, and that we are all connected, and part of one another.”
