简介
With their second EP of 2014, fiddle-driven folk-rock band Lost & Nameless are actually making quite a name for themselves. When You Walked Into the Room, releasing Sept. 9, continues the musical adventure the Austin-based foursome embarked upon with their March EP, Empty Spaces. Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Bil VornDick, the new EP features five originals, including “Say Goodbye” and “May I,” and a reimagined combination of “Matthew’s Reel” by Erin Shrader and “Reel a Levis Beaulieu,” a traditional. All six tunes feature Patrick Conway on vocals, guitars and banjo; Chris E. Peterson on mandolin, fiddle and vocals; Nathan Quiring on piano, organ, accordion and vocals; and Peterson’s protégé, Kimberly Zielnicki, on vocals, fiddle, bass and piano. The title track reflects Conway’s experience with love at first sight, while Zielnicki’s “Say Goodbye” revisits a relationship’s end. Conway’s “May I” evolved from far different subject matter: it’s a 2,000-year-old Buddhist prayer set to music. As one reviewer pointed out, with Lost & Nameless, you never know what might come next.
