The music includes bop favorites such as &Confirmation,& &Little Benny,& &'Round Midnight,& along with a delightful romp through the standard &All God's Chillun Got Rhythm.& It is only logical for the trio to explore music by Bud Powell (&Celia& and &John's Abbey&), since Michelot and Clarke were part of Powell's regular rhythm section during a portion of the late pianist's last years. Davis also adds his own &X. W D,& a bop masterpiece that is full of humor and lively solos. This is an essential acquisition for any fan of Walter Davis, Jr.
