简介
Elle Silver was a gifted singer, songwriter, keyboardist and actress. She was called a child prodigy at age five and appeared on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson” when she was ten. Unfortunately, she lost her courageous battle against Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia, a rare type of blood cancer, on May7, 2006. For 35 years Elle played in nightclubs, hotels and cruise ships all over the world. She had her own lounge show for 7 years at The Rivera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and then moved to Treasure Island Hotel and Casino for another 5 years. Often casino patrons would stop in her lounge for one drink but wound up staying for hours because they were simply mesmerized by her musical knowledge and ability. She knew over 1,000 songs (lyrics and music) by heart, not including over 200 of her own original compositions. Her warm smile and bubbly personality made everyone in the audience feel as if she was singing only to them. Whether she played solo, with an accompanist or in a full band, she was the ultimate professional. She was usually the first to arrive at a gig and the last to leave. In over 35 years of performing she was never late for one performance, with the exception of the final year of her life. It was during this time that she would sometimes arrive at her show a few minutes late because she had just rushed from the hospital having spent the last 3 or 4 hours receiving one of numerous blood transfusions she had to continuously endure. She would change right from her hospital gown to her stage clothes and off she would go to her gig. The endless chemotherapy and transfusions tested her emotional and physical strength to the max but when many would have given up, her courage and dedication to her music was absolutely amazing to witness. Elle could play any style of music. She could go from classical to jazz to easy listening to rock to country without batting an eye. “Philly Girl Goes Country” is a collection of songs written and performed by Elle along with her friends and fellow musicians. It is the follow up to her first CD “I Whisper Your Name”. May her spirit forever live through her music. The following artists were contributing songwriters on "Philly Girl Goes Country" JB Silver "King Of The Castle", "Now You're Gone" Cortland Spring "So Damn Hard To Say Goodbye", "If You Only Knew" Jamie Shea "Physical Emotion", "Windows Of The Soul" Allison Ivy, Ranji Bedi "Snow White Winter Rose" Larry Grossman "Don't Panic" Dominique Birt "Country Man's Son" Colleen Roper, Ed Roper "Month Of Sunday's" "This Time I"m Sure
