Phil Johns began writing songs on his guitar at the age of thirteen. He has lived in New Zealand all his life, though travelled widely for four years. He has recently moved to Heidelberg, Germany.

Illusion Fades Away is his debut full length release. It was mostly recorded in a boat shed on Wellington Harbour. A variety of guest musicians have made valuable input into the making of the cd. The production by Jody Loyd a.k.a Dark Tower from Christchurch is excellent.

Other releases include the music for two New Zealand films both of which made it to the L.A International Short Film Festival. The films are, ´Johnny Swan the Handsome Thief´. Rick Harvie, Belmont Productions, Christchurch. ´Super8Man´, Porter Productions, Christchurch.
