BVS remix by Brian Thabault Praise: Theory Magazine -- Bozeman, MT, #1 album of the year "This album is a collaboration between experimental producer Shane Johnson and the talented vocalist Michal Madeline. The production style is thickly layered with synths, samples, and massively complex drum patters. Michal’s vocals create a backbone for the glitchy sonic structure, and she creates a hauntingly beautiful aura throughout the album. The mood of the songs ranges from up-beat almost danceable tracks, to dark and brooding electronic anthems. The album as a whole hovers miles above other local sounds, and has the potential to compete on an international level." Theory Magazine "Unique in a sea of dubstep, neo-house and nu disco releases, Onomono’s albums spurn the clinical polish so many modern producers prefer, cultivating a warm and lush “lived-in” sound the analog giants of yesteryear would appreciate." Montana State University: Exponent Artist Explanation: "This album took place in an amazingly iterative process. Up to this point onomono was a solo, mostly instrumental project I had been tinkering with for a while. When I met Michal in late 2012 things began changing into a much more vocal heavy experience. On this album her voice is scattered texturally throughout. The reason I titled this album "Windows" was the fact that all vocals recorded on the spot, including those from Hemingway and Nathan Reid. Most instances I had them write to a track and record it in the same session. I found this to be a very revealing and compelling way to work. You get this moment where they open up in a very personal kind of way. Its an almost voyeuristic experience, even though much of the lyrics are purely fictional." - Shane Johnson
