The French duo BNDT72 have been scattering across the footwork scene with eclectic and infectious sounds since 2016; following a scriptural path, they released a handful of tracks on Samsara Beats, Dread Collective and Sequel One as well as featured their music and Dj sets in some of the most prominent platforms (Rinse FM, NTS Radio). Finally they present their first all-round production on Beat Machine; The Lost EP is a chameleon work that sparks with intriguing sounds from start to end: Lost and Tell Me are loaded with soulful and smooth melodies, reminisce of the acid jazz scene, yet neatly balanced by underlying broken drum beats and pulsating pads tribute to the late 90s Chicago footwork. Gyal Dem and Watcha drift in to the world of UK dub and Jungle characterised by rumbling bass lines and dub echoes. However the rhythm keeps bouncing with frantic cut ups mapping out the steps for a head-spinning dance contest. Not surprisingly the EP ends with a remix of Lost by the genre-defining legend Dj Spinn, who delivers a compelling 160bpm track injected with shifting drum patterns and pure energy.
