CEDE was founded in 2010 by Bay Area songwriter and worship music leader Scott Metcalf. In 2009, Scott produced a solo album in Nashville. Impressed with the level of musicianship and professionalism he found in that town, he desired to bring those same high standards to the Bay Area Christian music scene. Scott contacted several professional musicians whom he thought shared his vision and the journey was begun. As the band gained momentum, they were joined by Grammy-nominee Tammi Brown, international singing sensation William Russ Jr, and Bay Area guitar legend Reggie Coates. Over the course of their careers, the members of Cede have shared stages and studios with Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Jars of Clay, Sonicflood, America, Marc Ford and John Popper, to name a few
