简介
This album was written, recorded, and produced by Dawson Jones and Robert Brown in their High School recording studio at The Taft School in Watertown, CT. What started off as an Independent Study Project grew into a 10 track album that features 10 original works. Taft Sessions features a smorgasbord of genres, consisting mainly of Alternative Rock tracks inspired by the Dave Matthews Band and Dispatch, but extending to a Rock and Roll track in "Wake Up" that is comparable to AC/DC, a Rock track in "The Norm" that is influenced by Cake, and a few slower tracks in "Alone" and "Scars" that feature elements from Wilco. If you are looking for a break from mainstream Hip-Hop, Rap, Dubstep and House music and want to listen to Alternative songs consisting of all-authentic instrumentation that can be recreated live, Taft Sessions is for you. Dawson and Rob's philosophy is summed up in their lyric from Track 6, "The Norm:" "Dispatch, and the DMB, the one thing that they taught to me is that Rock is still alive, no it didn't die with the Dubstep wave and the Hip-Hop drive." Taft Sessions marks a revival in Alternative Rock in the 21st Century generation, and redirects the focus from synths and mash-ups back to band play and real instrumentation. Taft Sessions cannot be sufficiently conveyed in words, so give it a listen and see for yourself.
