The man we're talking about is Ivory Joe Hunter and this release should serve to remind us of his tremendous wealth of talent. The number of years an artist remains in the wax spotlight, continually turning out the hits, is an excellent criteria for separating the 'men from the boys.' This test has been taken by Ivory Joe and not only has he survived its rigid requirements but he has also emerged with flying colors. His position among the pro ranks has reached 'record' heights. Ivory Joe is a true artist in every sense of the word. Both his prolific pen and vocal talent have been responsible for hours on end of pure listening enjoyment. And there can hardly be any room for doubt in the wax buyer's mind that he's one of the great blues masters of our time. Among other Ivory Joe compositions, his "I Almost Lost My Mind" has attained standard status and has developed into one of the biggest hits of both the late 40's and 50's.
