I am a man of obsession. I have learned that to satisfy myself I must find something to obsess over, to think about even when the time for thinking is done, to work on even when goal seems arrived at. In short I have an artist temperament. I spent most of my youth obsessing over Baseball. I am thin, and I am not tall. To some the problems with this were obvious, but when you are in an obsession it is hard to see out, let alone let go. But I did let go, or rather was thrown loose. And so in 2003 bought my first 50 dollar guitar. It was pawn owned. I don't have a parade of tangible awards, or even a list of friday and saturday night gigs played to lonely audiences. I have years alone in a room, with a guitar and with a voice. My guitar and my voice. Somewhere early on.. I came to the conclusion that if I could sing one note rightly I could sing anything, that if I could get the guitar to sound just like John Mayer, even if only for a moment, that I could learn the whole song. I am not there yet, but I am far enough along to know that there is no there yet. I am ok with that because it fits my temperament, music fits obsession. Meet Lead with Your Heart.
