简介
如梦混沌、慵懒、梦呓般的声音 Papercuts writer/arranger Jason Roberts Quever follows up his critically-acclaimed previous efforts, Mockingbird and Can’t Go Back, with another CD full of dreamy, introspective pop songs. On this all-analog effort, the Bay area auteur conjures a retro world of sound by using lots of wobbly organ sounds and even more reverb (especially on the vocals). Songs like Latin-tinged “A Dictator’s Lament” and slow-motion “Jet Plane” sound as if they could be from the 1960s, the 1980s “paisley underground” ’60s revival, or today. Comparisons to label mates Beach House wouldn’t be inaccurate, but Quever has an idiosyncratic voice all his own.
