Marc, a Louisiana native, is a member of the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens, Somerset, NJ, where the Pastor is Dr. Deforest B. Soaries (CNN Black In America: Almighty Debt). There at First Baptist, Marc is heavily engaged in the music ministry participating in the Praise Ensemble and Young Adult Choir. Marc also has participated in many other musical endeavors, including the University of Notre Dame’s version of American Idol – Irish Idol (Winner-2004), Verizon Wireless’ How Sweet the Sound Gospel Competition (Peoples Choice, Best Large Choir Winner-Philadelphia -2008), and Jason Sharpe Theatre’s Gospel-Musical Production - Gossip. On April 12, 2011, Marc will be looking to release his first solo Gospel Album entitled Close To You. Close To You is Marc Danyell's debut Gospel Music project. The album was produced by Noel Goring (NGE Studios) and features the writings of Marc Danyell. Close To You also includes a production by Dinky Bingham entitled "Keep On Praisin'". Close To You sees Marc Danyell explore many different genres. The songs "Breakthough" and "I Love You" feature elements of today's R&B/Hip-Hop. Marc also pays homage to the classic "He Touched Me," completely revamping it and adding a New Orleans feel that stays true to his roots. Close To You also brings out a soulful feel with songs like "Closer (The Intro)" and "My Everything." The album also steps out of the traditional Gospel sound by adding ballads such as "You Were There" and "Close To You," and the Brazilian Bossa Nova fused "Amazing Mercy." Finally, Marc incorporates dance pop music in their lead single "Keep On Praisin'". Stated by Marc, the entire album is recorded to take the listener on Marc's journey to get "Closer To God."
