This album finds Sean continuing his exploration of solo guitar music, while expanding further with flute and guitar duets, and layered pieces including vocals. Though Sean has been singing for a long time, this is the first acoustic album to feature his vocals. Of the decision to finally include some vocal work Sean says "I'd never consider myself great by any means, but occasionally words are necessary to say what I want to say. I always just want to write good songs that mean something to me. It was the right time for vocal songs, and I think I finally feel comfortable recording my own voice. Whether it's good or not is for listeners to decide, but it's definitely me at my most vulnerable."
