I wrote the song in late January 2017 - as the world around me seemed to be changing into an uncertain place. I went to the Women's March in Boston and came home and wrote the song the next week.

"As Americans, we have had the "luxury", for many years, of living insular lives. In big cities and in small towns, many of us never really know others in our community beyond the nodding-hello stage....in being forced to unite in activism, we are meeting members of our community.
