简介
Kathleen grew up singing and playing various types of music, but her roots run the deepest in the piano-based pop of the '70s. Her professional vocal training gives her great versatility in conveying the deeper meanings of song; she has sung with black gospel choirs, Renaissance ensembles, and experimental electronic projects, as well as creating her own solo piano/vocal sets which she performs in Portland coffeehouses and other small venues. She has been playing piano since age 5, and her style reflects classical influences as well as her folk/pop roots. In her music, Kathleen seeks the pathway to love that lasts, plunging into the ocean of human emotion to find truths of the spirit. Her songwriting explores issues of faith, love, fear, anger, tragedy, healing, and hope. In her experience, encountering the Light is much more meaningful for those who feel their darkness. This is a custom (CD-R) recording, with album photography by Tracy Klas and graphic design by Kathleen. The five songs on this EP present pictures of love found, love lost, and love hoped for. Three of the songs (The Water is Wide, The End, and Broken Circle) were recorded by Brent Rogers at Sound Impressions in Portland's Rose Quarter, with Brent contributing poignant guitar stylings on The End; the other two were recorded in Kathleen's home studio. She appreciates the support of her family, friends, and fans, and welcomes your comments and questions.
