简介
This EP is the very first release from sister duo Meghan & Caitlin who are formerly known as Fenced In. Meghan and Caitlin Foley are singer/songwriters who write songs that appeal to all ages and backgrounds. Their sound is a blend of indie pop and country with a dash of blues. Combined with their beautiful lyrics and harmonies, their music creates feelings that stay with you long after the songs are over. The driving force behind their music is their ability to relate to their audience and explore problems others are sometimes afraid to talk about. Their messages are ones of love and hope and their goal is to help people with their music by making sure they know that they are not alone in what they are going through or feeling. Although they have released a single under the name Fenced In called Goodbye (Don't Hold Me Down), they recently decided they needed a fresh start and a new name for their debut EP. This EP has a little bit of everything; some songs are more electronic and pop, others have more of a light-hearted, cartoony feel, and still others are more emotional and serious. No matter the song, the common thread throughout this EP is the honesty and cleverness in their lyrics. The intention behind these songs is to get to know the girls and their unique perspectives of the world. As a nod to their former identity, the EP is titled Fenced In to tie in past and present and begin this new chapter of their musical careers. 19-year-old Meghan, the older of the two, has been writing and performing her music for over 10 years. In 2015 she won the fan favorite in the Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent, an award that was given out based on votes from listeners and fans. You can catch her rocking on guitar and singing the more delicate, high notes, but don’t be fooled: she has a powerful voice as well. 17-year-old Caitlin started her singing career on the family’s coffee table at age 2. After teaching herself piano at age 13, she started writing her own songs and performing at open mic nights. You can find her either on the keys or strutting around the stage with her powerful, naturally raspy voice that will take you by surprise. Although they started out as solo artists, the two ultimately decided they were better together, after years of urging by their family. They began writing songs in early 2016, and since then have seen a lot of local success, first in Willowbrook High School’s Battle of the Bands where they took first place, and more recently in Bally’s Got Talent. In the summer of 2016 they won the fan favorite award in the Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent Contest, as well as sweeping both the city and regional levels of Illinois Recreational Battle of the Bands. Meghan & Caitlin have played at many local venues including Villa Park Summerfest, the Arcada Theater, Reggie’s Rock Club, and Q Bar. Recently, their original song, Goodbye (Don’t Hold Me Down), was selected out of 16,000 entries as a semi-finalist in the International Songwriter’s Competition. This success is only the beginning for the girls. They believe in their music and the messages they write. Alone, they are talented; together they are unstoppable.
