Morgan Mecaskey is a singer, composer, and instrumentalist from Cleveland, Ohio. Her debut EP, Righteous Kind, is a heart and head experience for the listener: earnest lyrics delve into questions metaphysical while vivid soundscapes, whimsical motifs, and fat beats build the bold and beguiling album. Mecaskey draws inspiration from a wide musical spectrum. Her writing has an immediate indie-rock vibe laced with the folk tones of string and woodwind orchestration. Righteous Kind marks a new maturity in recording and performance for Mecaskey, the former front of indie-folk band, Tinamou. As both guitarist and pianist, Mecaskey makes the lush arrangements of the album particularly her own. Righteous Kind was recorded by Dave Douglas at Danger House and mastered by Doc Harrill at Synergy Studios in Cleveland. The album will be available online on September 29, 2012.
