NEW FICTION is an album of seven of my songs constructed around the original demo vocals of Suzi Woods. Three of the songs, "A Natural High", "Skin" and "Smoke and Illusion" also appear in a different form on my CD Baby album JAZZ BALLADS, released in 2016.In NEW FICTION I have framed Suzi's rich and versatile vocals in arrangements with contributions from a selection of Britain's top jazz players. Four of the songs clearly fall into the jazz genre, but "Sambinha","Spatial Alchemical" and "The Image of You", all of which feature some jazz instrumental, fall into slightly different genres. NEW FICTION is eclectic in style but the threads that run through it all are my stylistically broad song writing and the wonderful vocals of Suzi Woods. She tells the story like no other singer I know! Suzi has a successful career as cruise ship and cabaret singer. Apart from my more recent song writing and solo performing, I have also written for TV channels 4 and 5, written and scored stage musicals as well as designed sound for the stage.
