简介
MIKE TAIT- BORN TO BE A STAR Mike Tait is a song writer, recording artist and producer from a small suburban town located halfway between Philadelphia and Atlantic City. Mike Tait's music can be described as pop club music with a hint of hip-hop flavor, but his lyrics make him relatable to any genre of music. Tait is extremely diverse and has his own style. He can go from in-your-face and explosive to sophisticated and smooth. You can listen to 5 random tracks of his and think that it isn't the same artist. Tait is passionate and driven and unlike anyone else in the music industry today. At a young age, Tait showed great interest in creative writing and poetry, receiving literary awards throughout school. When he was about 15 years old, his older brother introduced him to freestyling. Two years later, he wrote his first song and recorded it onto a tape player. After that he never put the pen down, spending hours in his car by himself, just rhyming and writing about things going on his life, it seemed like the only way of releasing his feelings. "I don't know why or what gave me the desire to write, but I poured my heart out on paper." Tait recorded his first track by age 19. When Mike Tait met fellow musician Chris Maiello, they connected instantly. Maiello had one hell of a voice and Tait was a lyrical genius. They recorded a song he wrote on a computer microphone that was built into the monitor. When childhood friend, Al Tallman, a Full Sail University graduate with a degree in recording arts, heard Mike Tait at work, he decided to invest and built a recording studio for him. Tallman has been behind Tait from day one, investing all he has because he believes in Tait's work. With a great support system and awesome talent, Tait and Maiello were unstoppable, making a break out in the Tri-State area in 2006 with the club hit "All Night Long". They were side by side every step of the way, writing and recording. In late 2007, Tait was faced with his biggest obstacle when his partner and producer, Maiello was away for over 8 months. Tait was forced to go it alone, producing himself and shopping beats on his own. At first he was lost, because Maiello was always there giving his input and vocally producing him when he was in the booth. Most of all, Tait trusted Maiello's ear for music more than his own. This was a blessing in disguise for Tait, it motivated him to work twice as hard and he was forced to grow extremely fast as an artist because of this. It opened his eyes to see where he needed to be and to discover the true artist that he was. Tait decided to set forth on a solo album, appropriately titled "From The Ground Up!" Mike Tait's debut album is a study in contrast and showcases Tait's diversity with songs like "Lose Control" featuring The Southside Ambassador: Young Tre, to tracks like "A Parent's Prayer", a ballad about missing and exploited children, featuring Chris Maiello and Stevi. The first single off the album "Backside Pop Out" has already proven to be a hit as a club anthem and an internet sensation. "From The Ground Up!" is the album fans have been waiting for – full of passion, fanfaronade, smooth rhymes and lyrical escapades that explore the complex mind of a growing entertainer. Tait is inspired mostly by Eminem because of the way he takes his real problems and turns them into songs. Other influences include Joe Budden, Usher, Ne-Yo, 112 and Jagged Edge. Tait also gets some insight from his love of rock music; his favorites include Staind, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, Deftones and Guns and Roses. Mike Tait loves music more than anything: "I know I was meant to do this because I am not happy unless I'm in the studio". He is constantly writing and recording, spending endless hours making sure each song is perfect- never selling himself (or his fans) short. Tait hopes to transform the music industry by bringing music back to when it actually meant something. He writes music that people can relate to and creates an avenue for people to get away, to sing along because they are feeling the same way about a certain situation. If there is something going on in his life, he writes about it. Sometimes he even puts himself in a family member or close friend's shoes to write about their experiences. Everything Mike Tait writes is real. Mike Tait wants to show people that he actually puts thought into his lyrics and doesn't just say words that rhyme. Many mainstream artists today say anything on a hot beat ... anyone can do that. Tait is here to make a statement, and he will be heard. His combination of raw talent and charisma will captivate any audience. When he's on stage with hundreds of fans cheering him on, there is no better feeling for Tait- that is his comfort zone. There's no question that Mike Tait was born to be a STAR. Tait has performed in venues all across the tri-state area, for crowds from 200- 2000 guests.
