'Turn Around' is about every crush I’ve ever had. Obsession would take hold, and all I could think about was getting that someone else’s attention. On another level, it’s also about having tried to impress many different people as a performer: each audience member’s attention being as strongly desired as that of a love interest. I tried to evoke a dreamy sentimental 1950s feel because of the sense of innocence and longing I have attached to the popular music of that time. I want you to feel that I am crooning just to you.
