"I really wanted this album to have a natural sound. I kept the production simple and used no electric guitars. For each song, I recorded the acoustic guitar (first) without a click track as guidance for timing, and then, all the other instruments followed the natural timing of the guitar track, so none of the drum parts were quantized at all. Also, none of the instrument parts were layered, so there's a nice clarity and separation to the overall sound. It certainly was a challenge to produce in this way, but the end result is this great sounding, raw, singer/songwriter, acoustic/indie-rock album with some awesome guest artists, including one of my biggest musical influences, Angie Hart, from the platinum band Frente!" ~quanah
