"There's something scary going on around here...so I hang with my friends and watch some horror films, and pretend the world out there's not scarier..." Terribly Happy, a Peoria-based pop punk band brings out a fast, energetic departure from past poppy EP's in the form of their debut full-length independent album, "Modern Life" - With inspiration from skate punk, emo, and Japanese rock, Terribly Happy put together a true angsty F-U to the realities of life as a struggling college-aged human. The lyrics scream to this life in defiance as a self-actualized slacker (track 6 "Welp."), promise a better future (track 10 "Dead End Semester"), and most heavily, promise in the power of sticking through it all together (tracks 2 "Project Juvenile" and 8 "D.H.S."). - All twelve songs bring all sorts of messages together, and bring a unity to those who are confused, upset, and angry with life, proving that friendships and love will save us in the darkest times. "I swear I'm growing up; maybe just slowly. Don't measure my worth, and don't try to write my story for me."
