Jimmy Dunne (an award-winning hit songwriter with songs on 28 million records), wrote this school song standing on the stunning tree-line “Boulevard” – when he was visiting his freshman daughter, Kaitlyn. It was an early spring evening, and Jimmy was waiting for Kaitlyn – spotting her at the far end of the “Boulevard.” As she walked towards him, Jimmy wrote “SMU Forever,” imagining what his daughter would forever feel about her home and memories of her college days. Since then, the song has become a part of the university’s graduations, campus and alumni events, and even alumni weddings.
