简介

When listening to Pirates, Guitars & Beachfront Bars, we imagine Jimmy Buffett, Sammy Hagar, Bob Marley and Shabba Ranks all sitting on a beach writing and playing music together. What an awesome exprience that would be for any beach music fan. Throw Zack Brown and Jack Johnson into the mix and you've got a party! Listeners beware: It's not folky and romantic. This stuff is fun and infectious! A party is what PGBB is all about. James and company are adding a whole new dimension to the tropical beach genre by starting out with a base of high energy, rum drinking, rock-n-roll. The combination of crunchy guitars, fat horns, marimbas and steel drums are a refreshingly cool sound to add to your warm weather vacation playlist. PGBB starts off thier debut collection with an invitation to join them on an imaginary sailing trip. You can cast off the cold weather or your bad life circumstances simply by putting some "Sand In Your Shoes". Anyone who has flown, sailed or cruised the caribbean knows what it means to have a "Starfish On My Back". It's a passion (or addiction) that keeps the economies of small island nations afloat even in bad economic times. "On A Boat" is a great little tune that this reviewer predicts will be the background music to many homemade vacation videos offered up on YouTube in the coming years. The album continues to impress with 9 other sunny originals and 1 cover of "The Guitar Man" originally done by David Gates and Bread. The final title song, "Pirates, Guitars & Beachfront Bars" has a cleaver way of coheesively putting all three of these verbulent subjects together in one song. It also pretty much somes up the band as a whole. Pirates, Guitars & Beachfront Bars is a great find in the world of independent music. My only question is this: Jimmy Buffett fans are known as Parrotheads. What do we call PGBB fans? Rumrockers?
