简介
Anthonology Volume 2. It’s been one a helluva journey. I still remember when I dropped Anthonology Volume 1 back in 2001. Life was so different back then. A few years later, I got married (again) and had two wonderful kids. I continued to write, free style, and occasionally record when I went back to the D to visit. In 2007, me and JPalm decided to start working on Anthonology Volume 2. Over the next 5 years, in between work, family and marriage life, I sporadically wrote tracks for the new album and recorded whenever I was in the D. Every year I would start out saying, this is the year I’m gonna finish the album, but by the end of the year…nothing. In 2012, I met DJ Trouble, aka Trublife at my yard sale of all places! He happened to be looking for some old school Hip Hop vinyl and convinced me to break out my stash of 12s. We got to talking and I learned that he had a studio right up the street from my house. That’s all I needed to hear! I got re-energized and on a mission to drop the album that summer on my 40th birthday. We recorded like 6 tracks during my first studio session. JPalm was steadily feeding me new beats for the album and I was in a zone writing and recording new material and re-recording some old material all summer long. By the end of the summer, the album was almost complete, but not quite ready. Trublife ended up moving out of state, I had all kinds of drama in my life and the album was once again put on the back burner. By 2015, JPalm got me inspired to start writing again when released ITOFTS. I jumped right on it and sent him 9 songs I wrote to some of the new beats for a new project I called INTGITFS. But, I knew my first priority was to finish what I started with Volume 2 before I did anything else. When 2016 rolled around, I found another local studio to record at. Even with all the drama I was still going through, deep down I knew this was the year I was finally gonna make it happen. There were a few albums that gave me the extra motivation like Elzhi’s, Lead Poison and Royce’s Layers earlier in the year. Then when De La and Tribe dropped in the fall, I knew the time had come! I finished recording the last few tracks with JPalm over the Thanksgiving break in the D, did the outro when I got back to ATL and it was a wrap! So here it is Anthonology Volume 2. I hope you enjoy it!
