Over the years, while working on other projects, I've written and recorded a lot of acoustic down-to-earth songs, that didn't really fit along with my other albums. Now I have enough of those songs to give them their own album, "The Other Side", showing an other side of me as a musician, hence the title. About the songs: 1. Black And White Girl. Some time ago a site called SoundClick had a 10 year anniversery, and they put out a contest for musicians to make a song about them. Later, I wrote new lyrics and changed the music a bit, and now it's a song about being an outsider in modern society. 2. Fire In The Woods I wanted to make a song with lots of percussion rythms in an African kind of style, and I decided to sing about a fire in the woods, about how the sky would be black from ash and so. It fits the music pretty well. 3. God Told Me To Kill Myself This song has been giving me a lot of positive feedback. It's a song about being lonely and confused, but with no help from above. 4. Going Home This is a song about traveling all the world in search for love. Love could be many things in this song. Peace of mind, salvation. Sometimes you have to look inside instead. 5. The Great Red Dragon A fairytale. A fantastic story about a dragon, an elf rider and a dark wizard, a battle between good and evil, in a blousy kind of way! 6. Pay The Price A song about nature, how it will treat us if we don't start treating it well. If we want to destroy our world, we must indeed pay the price. 7. A Song For You. A little love ballad about going on after a breakup and finding peace with life as it has become. 8. Walking Down The Road There must be a first time for everything. This is my take on a country tune. It reminds me of some of Johnny Cash's later work. About looking back at a long life. 9. 14th Of January Street In the autumn of 2007 I was in Latvia visiting a friend. This is a song about that trip. The music is inspired by latinamerican salsa style. 10. Sunny September A song about appreciation of the autumn, especially September, as it is much more sunny and warm than we'd like to think. 11. Lullaby The last song on the album. A lullaby. Sleep tight, sweet dreams. Tomorrow's gonna be a new day. See you there.
