Suaka was born around 2004. With metal as our main influence, we always try to mix any Indonesian traditional instruments in to most of our songs, just like other bands like Soulfly, Sepultura and Puya who have been creatively putting sounds from their own countries. A lot of our riffs are also in pentatonic keys, the same as they use in most Indonesian traditional instruments. we started our first gig at the famous CBGB which turned to be a really good shows and followed by a few more until they closed down. mostly we play around NYC, but we have opened for a few bands and played around US. we just recently toured and played a few shows in Indonesia. Next year we will be playing in Southeast Asia and Europe.
