Sandcastles is E2K's latest creative project, debuting an open and confessional side to his music. The songs in this project are as retro as they are traditional, underlying a sense of uniqueness in the kind of material that E2K brings on the music scene. From topics ranging from love loss to identity battles, there is a piece of universal emotion in each song. E2K has worked collaboratively with his usual musical partner and relative J Poet, but he also includes some new artists and introduces us to a world of musical talent we didn't know existed until now. This is E2K's first self produced project as well, showing us that he is more than just a rapper. This project gives us all the "feels" we've been feeling but never knew how to put to words. He finds a way to discuss the difficulty of building a relationship, he piles on the heartbreak, the sexiness, the allure, and the temptation, and then he reminds us that love is as feeble and fragile as it is grand. Sandcastles is the album that makes us feel again.
