简介

May these songs bring deep peace, joy, and love to all listeners who offer them their time and attention. 1. be the Love This track was inspired by the Gandhian quote "Be the change you want to see in the world." My intent when crafting the lyric was to summon forth my greatest Self. 2. ukha ta-tun Gaia Originally bEarthed in 2010 under the title "we all belong", this is the oldest track on the album. It arose in response to the challenges of living communally with 10 to 15 others who all had their unique way of being. The renaming of the song occurred just prior to recording it, when the song offered an evolution of the meaning it had carried for 6 years. "We all belong" (a plea for honouring all the parts within the whole) became "we all belong to Gaia". The phonetic 'ukha ta-tun Gaia' precipitated this change. 3. we(l)come to be I am accustomed to presenting a face to this world that has very little to do with what's truly going on within me. This song is about clinging to that facade to the point beyond which it becomes intolerable. The so-called 'breakdown' is often the break through I need to a healthier way of being. 4. te veo "Te veo" is Spanish for "I see you". This song looks at the human journey through the 'eyes' of a plant. 5. Earth calls If the Earth were to speak to other celestial bodies or to the human race, what would She say? 6. Love is (an honouring gesture) This song was the one that heralded the coming of the flood after a 5 year song-bEarthing drought. It was also the song that helped me realise I had actually been living with depression for decades. 7. we are free The bindings that restrict me most profoundly are illusions of my own creation. "The mind that perceives the limitation is the limitation." ~ Buddha 8. enough! The fundamental pitch of consumerist culture is the notion that I am inadequate; that I am unacceptable as I am. With the aid of some 'essential' product I may momentarily make myself look, smell, sound, and feel 'better'. This lie is so endemic to my daily experience that I need to constantly interrupt it to believe otherwise. This song came through to remind me of this. "Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames." ~ Rumi 9. i am I There has never been, and there never will be another entirely like me, nor exactly like you. Life is a profound opportunity to explore the miracle of being. "The Space Between - You carry both lightening and thunder in the space between your bones and your soul. Become the storm you are hiding from. A hurricane does not run from the rain." ~ Nikita Gill 10. heart to hEarth My body is an expression of the Earth itself. To hear the voice of the Earth all I need to do is be attentive to what is sounding within. "Be still, and the Earth will speak to you." ~ Navajo Proverb 11. now we rise I live on a precious planet. It is brimming with sentience that I have failed to adequately respect or protect. I have hidden out of harm's way as atrocities have been perpetrated against the Earth and our fellow tenants in my name. No more... This song is a clarion call to the Self within and the Selves without. Heed and honour the voice of The Heart. Awaken the custodians of our hEarth. The hour is late. We have slumbered too long. Arise! Arise now! "What you are, the world is, and without your transformation there can be no transformation of the world." ~ J. Krishnamurti 12. pi's lullaby When we feel dismantled and dismembered by life's vicissitudes, may we find the thread of blessing in our trauma that leads us through and beyond it; that lifeline of grace back to the infinite tenderness in which we are forever cradled. May we return home to Love, forever more... forever more... forever more... Surrender to Love. Rest in Love. Be in Love. So, let it be... "Rest in natural great peace this exhausted mind beaten helplessly by karma and neurotic thoughts like the relentless fury of the pounding waves in the infinite ocean of samsara." ~ Sogyal Rinpoche 13. just love Ultimately we're all here for one thing only: love - just love. Anything else is mere distraction. "Love does not claim possession, but gives freedom." ~ Rabindranath Tagore Hallelujah! Namaste! Salaam! Aloha! Amen Aho! Jude Lane
