Port Lucian, fronted by Portia Maidment, 17, ventured into independent record production in 2016, due to a desire to expand her musical range and reach new audiences. In 2017, production began for her debut EP, Sun.

This release draws inspiration from the new wave of psychedelia. While Sun is varied in sounds and textures, it comes together to create a unique soundscape of emotions. This five piece EP explores different aspects of life in conjunction with the movements of the sun. While the music is undoubtedly new and electronically-influenced, it is still very much a reminder of her connection to nature.
