Her third CD of eight original songs, Tuckerman’s Ravine combines poetry and longing, folk and jazz. Tina writes about the struggle to create versus the tasks of family. She marvels at steadfast love, feels the stinging quiet of the empty nest, and is not afraid to go to the dark places with her songs, exploring Sylvia Plath’s last days and whether William Wordsworth’s sister may have been responsible for some of the world’s greatest romantic poetry. She takes you there with beautiful melodies, haunting harmonies, and unforgettable (and sometimes provocative) lyrics. Tuckerman’s Ravine is simply and beautifully produced by Tina’s son, guitarist/singer- songwriter Nick Lerangis, whose current band, Evening Darling, is gathering notice in the Brooklyn alt-country scene. (As a member of Walk the Moon, Nick penned the Billboard Pop hit, “Anna Sun.”) Nick co-wrote three songs on Tuckerman’s Ravine and played guitar and ukulele throughout. Tina plays piano and guitar along with the vocals. Jazz pianist/singer-songwriter Tina deVaron has played myriad venues in New York, from the Café Carlyle to Peacock Alley, where she played Cole Porter’s piano nightly for many years. Her covers for other groups have risen to #1 on the Gospel charts and #2 on the Dance charts.
