"The Off Switch," the fourth album by L'eclipse Nue, is a notable transition into noise. While something of a companion piece to "Sarcophagus," which was released earlier that same year, "The Off Switch" preserves the morose tone of the previous album, while dispensing with conventional song structure. Both albums are adorned with beautifully grim cover art by Selviozis. "The Off Switch," however marks L'eclipse Nue's descent into a more chaotic sound. Where "Sarcophagus" was comprised of discernible melodies, "The Off Switch" departs into noisier territory. Of particular note to noise aficionados is a guest appearance by noise veteran Mayuko Hino (C.C.C.C., DFH-M3, Transparentz, etc.) on the eighth track, "Rendezvous."
