Simon Quigley is a composer and pianist. He was a member of successful indie group Sack, and has recorded and performed with well-known artists including Camille O’Sullivan, Briana Corrigan, Edwyn Collins and Dave Couse, whom he did two solo projects, including “The World Should Know” nominated as best Irish Album in the Meteor Awards. He has composed for documentaries and TV series for RTÉ. His musical influences range from Kraftwerk to Steve Reich. He released his first solo EP “Ireland Is” in 2011 to critical acclaim, with poet Colm Keegan and songwriter Mark Cullen. He is producing an album for Fiach Moriarty, composed music for “Speaking of Drives 2011-12” a film by Alan Phelan as part of Fragile Absolutes Part 3 and working on his own solo modern classical project. He is currently working on a solo Modern classical project with several well know performers including Emer O’Grady (Cello), Larissa O’Grady (Violin and Viola) Siubhan Ni Ghriofa (Viola) and Maria Mason (Violin) as well as Martin McCann (Singer Songwriter) Clare Kavanagh (Soprano) currently working with The English National Opera and another collaboration with Poet Colm Keegan and singer songwriter Fiach Moriarty also involved, to be released in 2015.
