简介
"Michael Irwin's 'Northcoast Reflections' is a beautiful collection of original instrumentals produced by Peppino D'Agostino and wonderfully recorded by Rob Griffin." (Jim Jensen, Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine) Drawing on the scenic beauty of the Northern California coast, Michael has crafted exquisite compositions that are both soothing and uplifting. In addition, Michael collaborated with guitar virtuoso Peppino D'Agostino in composing a number of the selections. This is music that can be played repeatedly whenever relaxing at home or creating a reflective mood. It is both undemanding of the listener but simultaneously replenishing in its depth of feeling. Peppino writes: "Michael's music comes from the heart...there's a sense of tranquility in his musical journey that is highly melodic." Michael's creativity, both as a musician and a photographer, has a sense of place and natural beauty. One listener wrote after listening to "Flight of the Heron": "Early morning, just the two of us tubing down the Salt River.....a large Blue Heron was standing in the water just a few yards away....a magnificent creature nearly 4 feet tall. Thank you for the memory." Playing acoustic guitar for most of his life, Michael has been influenced by many of the great guitar players, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Alex De Grassi, among many others who can take one on a musical journey with only a single guitar and a beautiful composition. Nothing added, no frills, no overdubs. Mike Marshall writes: "Michael is keeping the legacy of the American steel string alive with this pristinely beautiful collection of solo originals."
