Kareem A. Diop-Johnson, better known by his stage name J-Kad, was born in Nashville, Tennessee on june 4, 1987, to a mother of African-American, French, and Dutch decent, and a father of African-American and Senegalese decent. At the age of six following his parents divorce, he and his mother started a new life in France. While growing up, J-Kad always had the desire to come back to the United States due to his troublesome childhood in France. His mischievous actions led him to experience many dangerous situations such as brutal physical altercations and being shot at on several occasions. Facing these trials led J-Kad to dedicate his time to a few of his passions, which would help to put him on a positive path. Basketball, Muay Thai boxing, and of course music soon became major parts of his life. He started writing rhymes at the age of eighteen, and fell in love with rapping the first time he stepped into a studio. From that point on, he dedicated his life to his craft and turned writing rhymes into a therapeutic experience. Over the next couple of years, J-Kad began to put his talent to work. He began performing for crowds in different countries including France, Monaco, and Cameroon and also had the chance to work with music producers in the Netherlands. At age twenty-one, J-Kad moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he decided to take his music career to the next level. He teamed up with Ced Wynez (Music Producer From Miami), and later J-Kad formed a movement, The Heavyweight Kamp Music Group. J-Kad and his team are working diligently to make quality music that will soon be admired all over the world.
