KAILUABANDS - This is a compilation album that will take you back to a music explosion that took place in Kailua, HAWAII during the 1970's. Explosion? Kailua? Isn't that where the windsurfing championships are held? Hardly a hotbed of music. Hawaii has a huge local music scene - there is even a category for Hawaiian music in the Grammies. THIS is different. This is music that took place in Hawaii, but that was more derived from the HUGE boom in singer-songwriter acoustic music scene nationally. THIS was the time of Crosby Stills Nash, James Taylor, Paul Simon, America, Seals and Crofts, Joni Mitchell and more. Kailuabands features 10 different artists that were playing live music in clubs from 1975-1979. The album tries to recreate the sound of an evening out to hear the bands. Syster, Stryder, Cooper's Still, Woodrose, Cindy Combs, Stephen Taylor - all performed in landmarks like "Rosey's Boathouse", Sylvester's, Pirate Bully Hayes Place, the 2nd Floor and the 23rd Step.
