简介
This CD features guitar music of Spain from the 19th- and 20th-centuries. Represented are gems by rarely-heard masters Julian Arcas (1832-1882) and Antonio Cano (1811-1897), pieces of unequivocal Spanish-ness by champions of Spanish nationalism Enrique Granados (1867-1916), Isaac Albéniz (1860-1909), and Manuel de Falla (1876-1946), and two solos by the great composer of the "Concierto de Aranjuez", Joaquin Rodrigo (1902-1999). The ever famous and popular "Recuerdos de la Alhambra" by Francisco Tárrega (1852-1909) and the anonymous "Spanish Romance" are also included. This CD answers the question: what is Spanish guitar, and what makes guitar the quintessential instrument for Spanish music?
