3 Speed专辑介绍：by Bradley Torreano3 Speed's eponymous debut is a curious blend of jam rock and jangly pop, all performed with a bluesy attitude that is offset by the soulful vocals. The band has a good ear for this type of music, and when they put the effort into it they can really come up with some catchy and interesting pop songs (i.e. "Kingdom of the Sun"). But occasionally they find themselves diving headfirst into a song that doesn't have a very memorable melody or hook, which traps them in an uninteresting jam with no real direction. There are some fine exceptions, especially the lengthy "Southbound." The song is a swaggering blues anthem that travels along on the gorgeous slide guitar of Ben Vermeylen, jumping around wildly for almost eight minutes until it comes to an unexpected end. For a track that long to sustain its energy throughout is a testament to the exuberance of the band, and whatever other problems the album might have, there is no denying their ability to stay interesting throughout. The album isn't great, but it isn't bad either, making this recommendable to fans of jam rock and jangle pop, but few others would probably enjoy this album.
