Lee Rankin comes up trumps again with a 3 track Techno EP charged with a difference and uniqueness. The Roots EP is a mixed bag of Old Skool and new boundary pushing Techno production from the Birmingham Techno guru. 'Strut' Is a mid ranged beefy Techno track with big drums and a throbbing bass line, layered with silky synth stabs and smooth licks of acid lines swaying you back and forth in perpetual motion. 'Blow my freak' is another chunky Techno production. Again laced with a dark acid feel, but predominately driven by deep bass and haunting drum lines. A Cool main breakdown leaves you feeling like you have been arrested. 'The Machines' is what it says on the can.
