简介
I think I read somewhere that Two If By Sea are "a 5-piece electronic rock band from Baltimore." Sure, you could say that...if you wanted to cut it down to brass tacks. But Two If By Sea capture that perfect moment in the club. It's the moment they make in movies. Everything starts running in slow motion. The girl you're dancing with has her eyes closed, and she's shaking her head. Her hair has a glow; it's waving like there's no gravity. Her arms are stretched high above her in rapture, in prayer that this beat, this chord will never end. The DJ has his mesh cap pulled down low. He's quit cueing the next record. Instead, he's got that barely-perceptible nod going. He's hearing Factory Records, circa 1980, all over again. He's hearing music that'll give the DFA new ideas. He's hearing the beat and seeing the crowd move. Your eye is the camera, your life is the movie and "Translations" by Two If By Sea is the soundtrack. To sum it all up..."Translations" is 9 songs of new-wave inspired angular rock... ambient electronics, guitars, live and triggered drums, and voices...creating an original post-punk sound infused with the spirit and sensibility of late 70s/early 80s new wave. Two If By Sea have shared the stage with such bands as Radio 4, Q & Not U, Enon, TheStart, Shannonwright, The Fever, ImaRobot, The Jealous Sound, Oranges Band, Liars Academy, Channels (feat. J.Robbins), and The Black Keys. "Translations" is released by Speedbump Recordings.
