简介
A blaze of electric jazz guitar inspired by the timeless 70’s rock sound.. David Laborier (Guitar) Boris Schmidt (Bass) Michel Mootz (Drums) DAVID LABORIER Having studied and lived in the U.S.A. and the Netherlands (he studied at Berklee in Boston and the Royal Conservatoire in Den Haag) Laborier founded his trio in 2003 and recorded his first original album titled “David Laborier Trio” for WPRJazz. Thanks to regular performances with various formations and top bills (The Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg with Didier Lockwood and the New York Voices, the Orchestre National de Jazz Luxembourg (ONJL) with George Duke, Randy Brecker), the shy and retiring Laborier has made a name for himself as one of the great new talents in jazz guitar. His group has a loyal following in Luxembourg, Belgium and France performing original compositions and jazz standards in a rejuvenated 50's – 60's style to delighted audiences. Laborier’s second album "Tease" (WPRJazz), is a highly individual musical statement made up of fusion, cool and modern jazz. Some of the compositions are thoroughly arranged, some more improvised, some are lyrical, some frenetic, some with loony motives, it masterfully blends both acoustic and electric elements. This album continues to receive extensive airplay in Belgium, France and Germany. His third and latest solo album is titled “Ye Ole Truckstop” (WPRjazz). “Ye Ole Truckstop” stems from a close collaboration between Laborier’s group members. It features a strong group sound, heavily influenced by the ‘70’s rock music. Laborier is also a member of Gast Waltzing’s band Largo, which has recorded two albums for Warner Jazz.
