Lucy Vincent – “Feel Good Music from Martha’s Vineyard” An ambitious band in their early twenties, Lucy Vincent has been developing a loyal and dedicated fan base along the east coast as a result of constant touring, grassroots radio airplay and an extremely successful debut record. Named after a beach on their native Martha’s Vineyard, Lucy Vincent formed by luck in the summer of 2005 when three island boys got together for a chill jam session. What came out was a delicious blend of catchy guitar riffs, thoughtful lyrics, and bouncy drums beats with an undeniable groove and overflowing energy that puts a smile on your face and a shake in your a**. A sound that blends everything from the catchy songwriting of Sublime and the lyrical and musical sophistication of The Police, to the pounding tribal pulse of Rusted Root and the pure party atmosphere of Jamiroquai, Lucy Vincent brings it all in a tight Power Trio package that is sure to rock any club, party or private function. Word has spread quickly about the band’s high energy live performances through circles of college students and local music critics alike, all agreeing on the fact that Lucy Vincent is truly “Feel Good Music.” Lucy Vincent has played over 120 shows in their first year as a band including opening spots for Blues Traveler, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, Galactic, Entrain, Ryan Montbleau, Teddy Geiger, Toubab Krewe, Garaj Mahal, Kyle Riabko and Melvin Sparks. The band has also hosted three different weekly residencies at Nectars in Burlington, Vermont regularly drawing 100 + on these nights and garnering sponsorship from local radio station 104.7 The Point and Budweiser. Lucy Vincent released their debut LP in 2005 and will be releasing their sophomore record; “Head Of The Tide” in January 2007 on Alpha Dog Records. Critics attribute Lucy Vincent’s quick success to well crafted songs, thoughtful and catchy lyrics, great stage presence and the ability to always give an audience a true PERFORMANCE. “Let me get this right out of the way: Vermont transplants Lucy Vincent are ridiculously tight. Their seasoned musicianship gives their material a potency lacking in most feel-good rock. Hell, I enjoyed this disc a sh*t load more than any Jimmy Buffett record I've heard” said Casey Rea of Seven Days Newspaper in a recent review of Lucy Vincent’s debut record. David Portnoy of Barstool Magazine said; “I haven’t been this impressed with an unknown band since I discovered and broke Rusted Root back in college. And therefore I want to be the first to say that I’m onboard the Lucy Vincent bandwagon.” The press and music fans alike are falling in love with the sound of Lucy Vincent. Lucy Vincent’s main demographic is college aged music listeners. Lucy Vincent features alumni of Berklee College of Music and Johnson State College and was selected out of over 1,000 applicants to showcase their live act at the 2006 NACA Northeast Conference for talent buyers and students from colleges all over the Northeast. Lucy Vincent has had the opportunity to perform at these great colleges: University of Vermont, University of Maine, University of New England, St. Michaels University, Johnson State College, University of Binghamton, Bennington University and has over 10 new college shows on the 2007 tour calendar.
