It used to be that you could only count of two things in life - death and taxes. Turns out there is another - a new album from Michael Stanley at least once a year. You can also count on the quality of each of his solo albums since the Michael Stanley Band called it quits more than 20 years ago, with "In a Very Short Time" being no exception. Michael has developed a method of creating recordings in such a way that each and every song is a complete entity, the most remarkable aspect of which is that you can't hear the production. Each song sounds like it has always existed - not like it was ever actually recorded - a remarkable feat, for sure.
