Hi, my name is Emile Nelson and I'm a freelance bass player/vocalist/songwriter from Sydney Australia. For the last 20 years I've worked as a session musician and vocalist for many major artists and bands both here in Australia and abroad.* At the age of 11, I decided I wanted to play an instrument so I bought a bass and started teaching myself. Since then my passion for music has never faded. The desire to make my own album has been ever-present for as long as I can remember and equal to that is my desire to learn and study as many different types of music as I can. As a result, I found myself on the path of being a session musician. I have loved working as a session musician on other people's projects and playing new music with various artists/musicians. I always thought I'd get around to finishing my own project earlier but working as a freelance musician makes you appreciate how quickly time flies. Twenty years on as a session musician I am finally here. The stars have aligned and I have managed to complete my own project! It has taken a while to complete this album but here it is. This album is the story of my journey and it has been quite a journey from inception to completion. It is narrated through an expression of musical creativity and lyrical interpretation. These are songs that connect and are meaningful to the core. They are soulful, uplifting, funky and raw. Organic. The result is a collection of songs that reflect a culmination of emotions, events, and experiences. It has brought me to this moment in time - finally completing my own artistic expression through my original work. Life is a journey.
