简介

Thanks for taking time to check out this cd..Check out the reviews below... My songs may not be for everyone and range from cruelly introspective to darkly humorous. Each one has a part of me in it, an ex, a situation, a perspective. Also, since there are a lot of songs around about broken hearts and getting dumped, I wrote a couple from the perspective of the dumper instead - I mean nobody ever gives the dumper any credit and its not easy being the dumper either!!!! I started writing again three years ago - always had a poets soul but put it on hold to earn a living. When my wife was diagnosed with cancer 3 years ago, I knew that in order to stay strong, I would need to get in touch with my real self and would need to write to do that. These songs aren't so much about that, I have other sites and projects with that content. But the writing did lead to most of these songs and the subsequent recordings. Bio Well I was born in D.C. in 1958, grew up in the suburbs. In a lot of ways I’m a pretty typical member of generation jones (uhm - Madonna, Michael Jackson, Marilyn Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, David Koresh LOL!!!) - stuck somewhere between the boomers and generation x in a kind of nowhere generation. Went to highschool and later community college in Rockville Maryland from 1976 to about 1980. The scene then was disco, punk/wave or retro so I kinda stuck with the allmans, stones, but also little feat and elvis costello, bonnie raitt.etc. In Georgetown, there was a pretty good country rock crossover scene for a few years and we used to go sneak in underage to see guys like Willis Alan Ramsey and Leon Redbone. I hung around with a bunch of street musicians around Key Bridge and picked up some street guitar styles. Spent a summer working carnival rides at the beach in Ocean City Md. one summer before flunking out of several colleges and then stumbling through a Bachelors at American University and later, a Masters at U.T. Austin. After graduating I just kind of watched my life waste away in a series of mindless jobs that were never quite enough to keep me going and ended up passing for some sort of semblance of a career track although it was all more by default than resulting from achieving any real dream. Like I said, nowhere.. That pretty much sums up 1985 to now, with the exception of Patricia Ann, my wonderful wife of now 15 years of partying and rock and roll. I never lost that part of myself - life’s still a beach. Now we’re facing her battle with ovarian cancer and doing our best. The guitars Well “Drusilla. The electric is my favorite, named after the character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Drusilla is an Ibanez GSA 60, not a particularly high-end or esoteric guitar, but a good basic ax with great action and a fast neck. Two single coils and a dual humbucker at the bridge. Sleek and dark, coffin case, sometimes I think she writes my rocker tunes like “trance of the vampyres”, “grunger”, “imadeu”, and retrancer. I just kind of aske her “what sounds like it would play at “the bronze” and she rocks on out. My acoustic is an Ibanez 300 bought for me in about 1982 by an old ex-girlfriend, actually the girl “pretty” is about. Nice sunburst and signed by Willie Nelson as you may be able to see in the pics. Willie and Kris Kristofferson were filming “Another Pair of Aces” outside Austin around the late eighties or early 90's. I had a friend working across the street fromone of the sets and left the guitar so he could try and get an autograph while I was at work. Sure enough, he told me Willie said sure, that he was glad to and that people just weren’t bringing him guitars to sign that much anymore. My friend said he also sat down on the street corner and played “whiskey river” on it. What was truly interesting is that I could tell the guitar had been retuned when I got it back. Later on, my wife got her picture taken with Kris in front of the Honeysuckle Rose bus. Anyway, the acoustic has been to hell and back and delivers fair tone with moderate action. The gear - Main amp is a Behringer V-ampire modeling amp. 12 inch speaker, 50 watts and tons of effects and simulations. It’s a beautiful hook-up for Drusilla. Also use a Crate keyboard amp, the wife’s Yamaha PS 292 keyboard, (she’ll be featured on some upcoming tracks) and an old Peavey Backstage 30 to push vocals with. Main vocal mic is A Shure 55 Series two - just got that so vocal tone should be quite abit enhanced on the next release. On the Ibanez Acoustic, I’ve used a Dean Markley pick-up and in fact, “broken rainbows” on adult delinquent was actually recorded with that and the Peavey and a couple of 10 dollar mikes from walmart.. Musical Influences This is always a b**ch. It depends on my mood. Sometimes I wanna sound like zepplin, sometimes like little feat, sometimes like Richard or Linda Thompson. Bonnie Raitt is a big influence, John Prine, Tom Waitts, Jorma Kaoukonen, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Pamela Anderson (the inspiration for “slightly diseased goddess”) Acoustic Grateful Dead, Tom Rush.
