Untamed is Hooka Hey’s first new record in more than 3 years! It contains 5 songs blending rock, heavy blues and soul that are all pretty different but remain cohesive. There are some fast rockers but also some heavier and almost tribal grooves, some spooky tones, and some mid-Eastern licks. There is extensive use of electric guitars, bass and drums combined with a lot of effects for sonic diversity as well as a touch of keys here and there for atmospheric relevance. It is recommended to listen to the songs in order, but there will be no negative consequences if shuffled. Playing it on repeat at a high volume is recommended as it produces a better appreciation of the music. This labor of love was recorded on tape in Austin, Texas, by Erik Wofford at Cacophony Recorders Studio and by Alex Lyon at The Bubble. Mixing duties were divided between Rene Ogando and Alex Lyon whereas mastering was performed by Alex Lyon also in Austin, Texas. Artwork was designed by Casey Eickhoff.
